Terms of service

1. What we provide

Site Punchlist loads pages from a website you nominate, runs an automated accessibility rule engine against them, and produces a report of the findings. That is the whole of the service.

2. What the report is and is not

A report is a record of automated testing on a stated date using a stated engine version. It is not a certification, an audit opinion, a statement of conformance with WCAG, or a legal opinion about compliance with any law. Automated testing cannot establish conformance. Acting on a report does not make a site accessible or compliant, and we make no representation that it will.

3. Your right to have the site tested

By submitting a URL you confirm you own the site, or are authorised to have it tested. You are responsible for that. We obey robots.txt and stop when a site blocks us, but we cannot tell whether you had permission.

4. What we test and how much

Each plan states a maximum number of pages. Which pages get tested is decided by the crawler, which spreads the budget across the different page templates it finds. Every report states how many pages were discovered and how many were tested.

5. Payment and refunds

Prices are shown before payment and charged once. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never receive your card details. Refund terms are at /refunds and form part of these terms.

6. Report links

Reports are reachable by an unguessable link with no password, so that you can forward one to a developer or a client without them needing an account. Anyone holding the link can read the report. Treat it as you would a shared document. Ask us and we will revoke a link.

7. Availability

This is a small service run by one person. We do not offer an uptime guarantee. If a crawl you paid for cannot be completed, you get your money back — that is the remedy.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any claim arising from a decision made on the basis of a report.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to test sites you have no right to test, to overload a third party, or to attempt to break it. We rate-limit both by requester and by target site, and we will decline service that looks abusive.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force for an order is the one published when the order was placed. Material changes are dated at the top of this page.
